Eligibility
To be eligible for a SPSF of Sevier County Arkansas scholarship, you must meet the criteria below:
- You live in Sevier County, Arkansas
- A single head of household (single, legally separated, divorced, or widowed) with sole custody of one or more children under the age of 18
- You have earned a high school diploma or GED.
- You have not previously earned a undergraduate degree.
- A low-income person at or near the poverty level.
- You are pursuing a career-oriented course of study (full time) to ensure a better standard of living.
- You have completed or are in the process of completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Deadlines
Fall:
The Fall application deadline is November 15th
Spring:
The Spring application deadline is April 15th.
Required Documents
New Applicants
- Your class schedule for the upcoming term as proof of enrollment. If your class schedule is not available when you apply for the scholarship, you may
submit verification from the registrar; however, a class schedule is still required before your scholarship will be awarded.
- Federal Tax Return - 1040 (first two pages of the most recent year). If you did not file a tax return, other income verification documents may be considered.
- Provide one of the following:
- Copy of your FAFSA Submission Summary.
- Letter from the Financial Aid Officer that states your approval or denial for financial aid during the term for which the scholarship is to be used.
- If you did not apply for FAFSA, provide a written explanation for why you did not apply.
- Provide one of the following:
- Complete divorce decree
- Legal separaton order
- Death certificate for your spouse
- Complete the statement verifying you have never been married within the application
- Official transcripts from all postsecondary schools you have attended, including your most recent term. If you have not yet attended any postsecondary schools, provide
your high school transcript or GED certificate. Official transcripts are sent directly from the Registrar's office or their designee by mail or eScript.
Returning Applicants
Essentially everything listed above for a new applicant; however, an unoffical transcript may be provided to take the place of an official transcript.

also go by the Sevier County Housing Authority at 304 S. 13th Street in De Queen and speak with Jamie or Shauna. They are both extremely knowledgeable about the SPSF as well
and always ready to help.
